What Chimeby does with your accounts and other people's words.
You choose how a reply is posted
You can edit and post a reply yourself. Managed publishing, when enabled, uses a Chimeby-operated account and requires your approval of the exact reply, including its affiliation. Managed publishing is currently disabled by default and still needs live verification before use.
What it refuses
Account linking does not request posting, editing or voting permissions. Managed publishing uses a separate signed-in browser account. The permissions refused by account linking are:
- The one Reddit calls submit, to post a comment as you.
- The one Reddit calls edit, to change a comment you posted.
- The one Reddit calls vote, to vote as you.
- The wildcard, which is every permission at once.
- The one X uses to post as you.
Where Chimeby looks
Chimeby reads public posts and comments on Reddit, Hacker News and X. It does not read private messages or anything behind a login.
Reddit has not reviewed or approved Chimeby.
Accounts and replies
- Managed publishing uses a separate pool of Chimeby-operated accounts. Account details and signed-in browser sessions are held for that workflow.
- Chimeby can draft a private message to a person, and you send it yourself from your own account.
- It has no follow, unfollow or upvote feature.
- It never puts a tracking link in a Reddit reply.
- It never lets one of your drafts be reused for somebody else, and it stops two Chimeby customers answering the same thread.
The safety rules
Before Chimeby lets you copy a reply, it checks rules covering how often you have mentioned your product, whether the community allows it, and more.
A private message has rules of its own: it says who you are, carries no link the first time, goes to each person once, and keeps to a daily limit.
No platform has reviewed or agreed to them.
Other people's words
Saved conversation text is retained for up to 90 days from when the conversation was added. Other discovery text and surrounding comment caches expire after 47 hours. Cleanup is scheduled every 15 minutes. Configured live checkers look for edits and deletions daily; a failed check is not treated as proof of deletion. Backup snapshots follow the separate schedule on the privacy page.
Email digests can include conversation titles and links, but not post or comment bodies. Source text is excluded from analytics and application logs.
